Hey guys what's up so uh today I wanted to make a video about how I got my job at Hot Topic a lot of people have been asking not like people I personally know more like fans because I don't have them at all but just like people come in, and they're like oh how can I get a job, so I just wanted to kind of make a video because I know there's a lot out there, and I just wanted to put out my own experience with it um first you do have to be at least 16 years old to work at Hot Topic, and they do like a little of experience but if not it's just preferred it's not required I started working at 17 I worked at justice which is a little girls clothing store I worked there for about I think I worked there for a year and a half I think I was there for a while um it was a really nice environment that's not the stories about, so then I left for college, and I wasn't working for about six months I think, and I came back, and I supposed to work back at justice and things just didn't work out, so I applied to a bunch of other places, and eventually I got interviewed that topic I should say like going in I didn't look like this when I got my interview at Hot Topic and I don't look like this now because I work at Hot Topic like I should make that be known for you guys basically I got the interview it was really casual like not casual but uh like laid-back he was just kind of asked I was asked uh kind of like what kind of worker are you what kind of what do you know like for shows and things as for your image because that's a lot of questions that people ask they're like oh, but I don't look like I work there yes and no like okay, so I don't want to come in wearing like Hollister and like preppy things and like there are outfits that I own that I would not wear to work because they don't fit hot topic at all but I still have them, but then there's also outfits I have that totally fit it like this totally fits, but you don't have to fit like that goth or scene or like emo or whatever people a punk alternative like whatever people want to say it is like you don't have to fit that you don't have done the super dark eyeliner, or you know black lip, but colorful hair like you don't have to do any of that as for knowledge of product and stuff a lot of people like oh there's a lot of things there I don't like anime so what do I do with that, or I don't like certain kinds of music what do I do with that um you just have to have basic knowledge for that kind of things like you have to be able to connect with the customer and be like oh yeah definitely you like had that enthusiasm like I like Supernatural am I watching you right now no I'm not I haven't watched it for like three years, but I still like I'm able to connect with customers that come in, and I'm like oh yeah like I remember when Dean did that and yeah like I'm not going to do specifics because I can't make anything right now, but you have to be able to build that connection because it's really about that...
